At The Birley Academy we have a dedicated programme of events throughout the school year where students and staff are involved in raising money for both local and national charities. Previous charities have included:

Comic Relief

Children in Need

Sheffield Children’s Hospital – Herd of Sheffield. We were asked to raise £1000 to sponsor and design our own elephant. After a tremendous effort by all the students the final total was £1800. Lumpy the Elephant was designed by Laura Batty and Ellie Burton.

Save the Children - Christmas Jumper Day

Spa View Community Church Housing Project in Mexico.

At the beginning of each academic year through our 4 Houses (Johnson, Mellor, Roebuck and Sharman) the academy picks the charities that they would like to support for the year.

Our first fundraising activity will take place in the autumn term and will raise funds for The Sheffield Children’s Hospital lights up for Christmas event. We are aiming to raise £1000 to sponsor our first snowflake which will decorate the outside of the hospital.
